Leaping Lizards school year corresponds to Taos Public Schools, late August through May. We welcome children ages 2 through 6. [Your child must be 5 yrs. By Sept. 1st to enter kindergarten]

We accept supplemental tuition from Children Youth & Families Department. Accredited through Aim High.

School hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for the convenience of working parents; Due to the fact that this is a long day for young children, we encourage parents to bring your child (ren) in at 9:00 am and pick them up at 4:00 pm.

• Toddler program:  2 teachers and 1 Part-time teacher
  13 children per class
• Pre-School program:  2 teachers
  18 children per class
• Pre- K program:  2 teachers
  18 children per class

Leaping Lizards provides a healthy morning and afternoon snack.

Parents will need to provide a healthy lunch with an ice pack.

Nap time: State licensing requires rest time of 45 minutes daily.

• Toddlers nap time:  1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
• Pre-School nap time:  1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
• Pre-K:  2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Special Guest: A child’s time at school is precious and at Leaping Lizards we encourage parents, artists, storytellers, musicians and more to share their talents. Periodically during each school year, these individuals will share their special skills and talents with the children.

Experiential Learning Program

• Giggling Geckos (Toddler program): 2-3 year olds, minimum of 2 days a week. Potty trained not necessary.
• Laughing Lizards (Pre-School): 3-4 year olds, minimum of 2 days a week.
• Lizard Wizards (Pre-K): 4-5 year olds, minimum of 3 days a week.

All programs available 2-5 days a week

Some of the activities and materials are intended for adults to work along with the children, while others encourage independence. In order for each child to gain the maximum benefit from the activities, it is necessary to consider each child’s developmental level and to adapt and individualize each activity as much as possible.

Teachers are trained in conflict resolution and team building activities.
